Froward Point sits at the southern tip of the Kingswear peninsula on the South Devon coast, the headland marking the eastern side of the entrance to the Dart estuary where the river meets the English Channel. The coastline here is part of the South West Coast Path and is characterised by steep wooded cliffs, rocky outcrops and the open sea views that extend south and west towards the Start Point peninsula and beyond. Offshore from Froward Point lies the Mewstone, a distinctive rocky islet that sits in the channel between the headland and the open sea, and it is this combination of the Mewstone and the surrounding coastal water that forms the subject of this photograph.
